Duties

• Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and menu plans, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
• Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with food prep tasks such as slicing, chopping, portioning, and plating to support smooth kitchen operations
• Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service delivery
• Follow strict food handling procedures to uphold safety standards and prevent contamination or spoilage
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe specifications

Requirements

• Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or institutional settings preferred
• Hands-on experience with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
• Knowledge of cleaning protocols related to food service environments and operating kitchen equipment safely
• Strong understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
• Ability to demonstrate knife skills, slicing techniques, and precise recipe adherence
• Previous restaurant or food industry experience is highly desirable
• Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and catering experience is a plus

Pay: $22.89 - $27.57 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
