Position Summary
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining all IT-related hardware, software, and systems across our US facility, and offering as-needed support for our AU facility. This includes ensuring the uptime and operational efficiency of all IT systems, contributing to seamless business operations. The role covers general IT support, system maintenance, backup management, and IT issue resolution across all business units.
Responsibilities
Ensure maximum uptime and operational performance of all IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and camera systems.
Develop, maintain, and execute service schedules, backups, and data recovery plans in line with best practice data security standards.
Maintain detailed network and system architecture documentation, diagrams, and credentials management.
Provide first-response support for unscheduled IT downtime and system failures.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and software issues reported by internal teams.
Liaise with external suppliers and service providers for hardware support, installations, and maintenance.
Advise on IT infrastructure procurement and planning to align with business growth objectives.
Implement and monitor site-wide hardware performance, security updates, and software deployment.
Train staff on basic troubleshooting, IT operations, and system usage.
Perform routine quality control checks on all hardware, software, and camera systems.
Complete ad-hoc IT-related tasks across business units as required.
Technical Skills
Qualifications & Experience
5 years’ experience in network/server administration or infrastructure project-focused roles.
Virtualisation & Server Infrastructure
Microsoft Hyper-V VM clustering and replication.
Exposure to HP ProLiant server hardware.
High-level understanding of IP networks and virtualisation platforms.
Operating Systems
Strong knowledge of MacOS/iPadOS administration and device management.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, on-premises Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Linux OS – Ubuntu/Debian and CentOS.
Networking & Security
Advanced networking skills including multi-level subnetting and VLAN configurations.
IPsec tunnel configuration and remote VPN setup and management.
Palo Alto firewall administration and policy management.
UniFi switches and UniFi Network Application exposure.
Scripting & Automation
PowerShell scripting for Windows automation and administration.
Bash scripting for Linux/Unix environments.
Backup & Storage
Veeam Backup & Replication – configuration, management, and recovery.
Synology NAS device administration and configuration.
Desirable – Not Required but Highly Regarded
Caldera print workflow software.
N-able RMM platform for remote monitoring and management.
Apple Business Manager for device deployment and management.
Google Workspace administration.
