JOB TITLE: At Risk Coordinator
SUPERVISOR: Reports to Elementary Principal
JOB SUMMARY: The At-Risk coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with school administrators and school staff to provide the support and oversight of SEBH systems, attendance matters, crisis response, family support, and serve as a liaison between the school and external agencies. This leadership role will be primarily based in the elementary school but will still serve as a collaborative partner with the Easton Valley JH/HS At-Risk staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ATTENDANCE SUPPORTS:
- Collect and Review K-6 Attendance Data
- Communicate with secretaries about student absences
- Communicate with families regarding attendance concerns
- Meet with student to get a basic understanding of the issue in order to make a referral to the appropriate staff member
- Communicate any attendance concerns to appropriate staff for intervention and support purposes
- Provide support for families of elementary students with attendance needs
- Communicate concerns to County attorney and SRO
- BCC emails to elementary classroom teachers
- Continue to monitor data and collaborate with appropriate staff if problems continue
- Coordinate assistance for students needing support with transportation
- Collaborate with staff supporting interventions to ensure compliance with attendance law
- BEHAVIOR SUPPORTS
- Primary provider of behavior interventions and supports, as needed
- Primary responder in elementary crisis situations and other unforeseen matters that require immediate assistance (escalated student, parent, etc) AND make referral to appropriate staff and/or service provider
- Secondary responder in JH/HS crisis situations and other unforeseen matters that require immediate assistance
- Offer support to PreK - 6 staff responsible for leading interventions when they can benefit from additional assistance, resources, etc.
- Support Social-Emotional- Behavioral-Health Systems (SEBH) in the elementary building
- Collaborates with teachers and staff to assist with implementation of consistent and effective classroom management plans, student plans, and other behavioral interventions
- Organize and share behavior data with principals and leadership teams
- Support processes regarding bully/harassment/discrimination investigations in district as necessary
- ACADEMIC SUPPORTS
- Work with elementary academic and behavior SWIT team to monitor students on both behavioral and academic intervention plans to ensure necessary supports are being provided in consistent manners
