Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across multiple departments, including emergency, critical care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty units such as ophthalmology and cardiology.
- Perform detailed patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation of patient records, medical histories, and treatment updates.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, laboratory procedures, and imaging coordination such as sonography or radiology when necessary.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate with case management teams to ensure seamless transition of care for patients in post-acute or long-term settings.
- Manage complex procedures including IV insertions, catheterizations, wound suturing, ventilator management, and ostomy care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that meet the needs of diverse patient populations including those with developmental disabilities or memory care requirements.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth; proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in areas such as critical care (ICU/CCU), emergency medicine, trauma medicine (Level I & II Trauma Center experience), and hospital medicine.
- Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures including tube feeding management, ventilator support, dialysis assistance, and aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of pharmacology for medication administration and pain management practices; experience with botulinum toxin treatments is a plus.
- Ability to perform complex patient assessments involving physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards including MDS (Minimum Data Set), CPT coding, and laboratory specimen processing.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care centers or surgical units; experience working with individuals with disabilities or in geriatrics is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills for triage situations, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration; experience working within HIPAA guidelines is essential.
