Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate transfer techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, while maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care requirements, or those in hospice or palliative care settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to patient needs in environments like long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals—including ICU, trauma centers, PICU—and outpatient clinics.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
- Assist with medical procedures requiring manual handling or the use of equipment like Hoyer lifts or other patient transfer devices.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide education on health conditions and post-discharge care instructions.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, outpatient clinics, or home & community care settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics and seniors.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care across multiple specialties including ICU, emergency medicine, surgical units, or sub-acute care environments.
