Certified Nursing Assistant (IDD)

A Certified Nursing Assistant (IDD) is responsible for providing direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a residential setting. The CNA (IDD) will work under the supervision of the Group Home Manager and will assist with activities of daily living, medication administration, and other healthcare-related tasks. Responsibilities: Assist individuals with IDD with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Administer medications as prescribed by a licensed nurse Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature Assist with meal preparation and feeding Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with IDD Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment Document care provided and report any changes in condition to the licensed nurse Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures Requirements: Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Indiana Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with IDD, their families, and healthcare professionals Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to lift and transfer individuals with assistance as needed Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
