Mechanic

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Diagnose and complete mechanical, electrical, and emissions repairs on agency vehicles with an emphasis on time and safety. Supervisor must approve all repairs.
• Respond to breakdowns and road calls as needed.
• Assist supervisor with information processing. Must be able to maintain and retrieve information from computer-based programs and record all work completed on appropriate work orders. Must be able to safely utilize all equipment necessary to complete required work. Must understand all principles of safe operation of all equipment at the work site.
• Clean garage facility on a daily basis. Maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Communicate with drivers to understand and resolve concerns.
• Assist in maintaining inventory by reporting on stock levels and usage of parts, supplies and equipment. Must be able to order parts occasionally. Properly dispose of all materials generated by the shop as waste.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school, technical school or equivalent education
• Two (2) years certified mechanic or related repair experience OR graduate of Automotive Repair Program
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred
• NH State vehicle and bus inspection license
• Obtain all necessary permits or licenses as required
• Possess or ability to obtain a CDL/P and maintain all driving credentials
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and emissions problems
• Possess hand and air tools
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  
  

Hours

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Compensation

$23.00 an hour
