Job Description

Easterseals NH is excited to announce a new role for our transportation program! We are seeking a Driver - Float to provide reliable driving coverage in the absence of regularly assigned drivers and support departmental operations through administrative and special-assignment duties when not performing driving functions.

Qualifications

• High School Education, GED or related experience
• Driving record within guidelines of MVCP (motor vehicle control program)
• Able to obtain necessary certificates, permits or licenses as required for job
• Relates well to persons with disabilities
• Communicate effectively with staff and professionals
• CDL optional, based on Agency need
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and priorities
• Proficiency with basic computer applications
  
  

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for scheduled and unscheduled driver absences, including but not limited to emergency call-outs, vacations, training, and other leaves of absence.
• Provide safe and timely transportation for all assigned customers.
• Provide general operational support and special driving assignments during peak periods, emergencies, or special events such as field trips, charters, or shuttles.
• Assist with clerical and operational tasks related to scheduling, route planning, and dispatch during non-driving periods.
• Review route and service delivery performance through ride-alongs and camera audits and submit all findings to supervisor.
• Support drivers at various schools during periods loading or unloading. Provide appropriate Passenger Assistance Techniques to assist passengers as necessary.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation tasks for new drivers, including training support or documentation preparation.
• Report all vehicle and customer incidents to supervisor and/or dispatch as soon as possible.
• Utilize and maintain adaptive equipment for specialized transit.
• Perform and review pre-trip inspection reports, shuttle vehicles to receive preventive maintenance as required by Program and maintain all logs.
• Communicate with individuals, understand appropriate behavior modification techniques and maintain a safe environment on vehicle during transport.
• Communicate well regarding any case management or service delivery issues that arise.
• Be available to work for/with other departments of Easterseals as requested by supervisor.
• Perform courier service as requested by supervisor.
  
  

Hours: May vary but generally Monday – Friday

• Morning – 6am-9:30am
• Mid-Afternoon – 11:30am-1pm
• Afternoon – 1:30pm-4:30pm
  
  

Compensation: $23.50 hourly.
