Role Description
The Manager of Accounts Payable and Travel Accounting oversees the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and travel transactions while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Responsibilities include managing a team, reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliation, monitoring accruals, analyzing financial data to identify trends or errors, and assisting in budget management. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders to optimize processes and maintain financial integrity. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Cheney, WA.
Qualifications
- Strong financial and accounting expertise, including knowledge of journal entries, accruals, and general ledger management
- Proven analytical skills to monitor and interpret financial data, and identify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement
- Experience in accounts payable and travel accounting processes, including oversight and compliance with policies and regulations
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering collaboration and efficiency
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with strong attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of higher education financial practices is a plus
