Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Auto Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across a variety of vehicle makes and models. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics using specialized tools and equipment to identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions.
• Execute a wide range of automotive repairs, including but not limited to:
• Brake systems (disc and drum)
• Steering and suspension components
• Engine performance issues (tune-ups, sensor replacement, etc.)
• Electrical systems (diagnostics and repair of wiring, lights, accessories)
• HVAC systems (diagnosis and repair)
• Basic transmission and drivetrain maintenance/repair
• Exhaust systems
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements.
• Accurately document all repairs, services performed, and parts used on work orders and digital systems.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair recommendations, estimated timelines, and potential additional services needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Continuously learn and stay updated on new automotive technologies and repair techniques.
• Assist entry-level technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs as needed.
• Conduct pre-purchase inspections and provide detailed reports.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of proven experience as an Auto Repair Technician in a professional shop environment.
• State of Maine Inspection License
• Strong diagnostic skills with proficiency in using scan tools, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Solid understanding of vehicle electrical systems and ability to read wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in performing a wide range of mechanical repairs on various makes and models.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with automotive repair.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Own a basic set of automotive tools.
