What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mammography Technologist position at Eastern Radiologists, Inc.?
Job Summary: Under indirect supervision performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of mammography, x-ray and bone density images. Responsible for the care of the patient while in the department.

Major Job Functions:
- Communicate with patients in a respectful, appropriate and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of mammogram, x-ray and bone density rooms.
- Explain procedure to patient and maintain patient safety.
- Provides patient care and comfort and honor patient’s bill of rights.
- Obtain patient’s clinical history as appropriate to procedure.
- Start and end patients on computer.
- Follow and attend all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and classes.
- Perform QC duties as necessary.
- Maintain data in MagView for all patients..
- Call patients back for additional views as needed.
- Perform/analyze bone density procedures.
- Perform diagnostic x-rays and mammograms.
- Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Experience: No post graduate experience required.
- Certification/License/Registration: ARRT registered in Mammography required. BLS/CPR certification required. Maintains Continuing Education Credits required.
- Position Titles and Number Supervised: None.
- Special Training/Skills: Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Must display courtesy and empathy toward patients, co-workers, and physicians. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Must have good communication skills and be discrete with confidential information. Demonstrate punctuality and dependability and ability to make good use of clinical time.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to move about freely. Must be able to assist in the lifting of physically compromised patients. Must possess sufficient visual and auditory acuity to perform task remotely located to the patient.
- Working Conditions: Works in a medical facility. Subject to electrical, chemical, and radiant energy hazards. Exposure to infectious disease and lifting hazards. Sits, stands, and walks intermittently throughout the day. Must stoop and bend in the course of job performance. Must lift patients and supplies.
