Position Information:
Eastern Oregon University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Advanced Clinical Educator to join the online Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. This remote faculty position will support a fully online, asynchronous graduate program with a focus on advanced generalist practice serving rural and underserved populations. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, scholarship, service, and contributions to accreditation efforts. The MSW program launched in Fall 2025; this role begins Fall 2026 and includes 45 total quarter credit hours of teaching and service over the 9-month appointment.
Job Description Summary
The MSW program at EOU is designed to serve adult learners, particularly those in rural and underserved communities, through a fully online, asynchronous delivery model. Operating on an 11-week quarter system, the curriculum emphasizes ethical, inclusive, and evidence-informed advanced generalist practice. The program does not require campus residency or travel. EOU seeks professionals who demonstrate commitment and teaching effectiveness in order to assist our students in preparing and attaining their professional goals. The anticipated start date for this faculty position is September 15, 2026, with instruction beginning September 28, 2026. The appointment covers Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters, with Summer term off.
Compensation is based on the successful applicant’s education and relevant teaching and social work experience. Primary Responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level courses in the generalist and advanced generalist social work curriculum via asynchronous online delivery;
- Provide timely, substantive feedback and maintain regular communication with students;
- Assess student learning through varied and appropriate evaluation strategies.
- Advise and mentor MSW students, including support in academic and professional development;
- Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards and contribute to accreditation documentation and preparation;
- Supporting program accreditation efforts (CSWE);
- Maintain an active scholarly agenda relevant to the social work profession;
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support continuous program improvement; Demonstrate effective time management, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting academic deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program;
- Earned doctorate in social work or a closely related field;
- Two years of full-time post-MSW professional social work practice experience;
- Higher education teaching experience.
- Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensure as LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent in the applicant’s state of residence;
- Experience teaching graduate asynchronous online social work courses;
- Experience supervising master’s level social work students;
- Proficiency with Canvas LMS and online course development;
- Familiarity with CSWE accreditation and EPAS standards;
- Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse student populations, including adult learners.
