Grant Writing Specialist
Eastern Oklahoma Development District (EODD) is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Grant Writing Specialist to support grant seeking, grant writing, and post-award grant management services for partner communities and organizations throughout Adair, Cherokee, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Sequoyah, and Wagoner Counties.
This position will work primarily with municipalities, counties, public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and funding agencies to identify and pursue funding opportunities that align with local needs, priorities, and project goals. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, professional communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
Responsibilities
· Research funding opportunities that align with partner needs and priorities.
· Meet with partners to discuss projects, funding priorities, and application requirements.
· Prepare, write, and submit grant and funding applications on behalf of partner entities.
· Coordinate with partners, project stakeholders, and funding agencies.
· Communicate application requirements, documentation needs, and funding conditions.
· Attend governing body meetings, public hearings, community meetings, and project meetings as needed.
· Support post-award grant management, including reporting, deadline tracking, communication, and compliance documentation.
· Maintain organized grant files, records, calendars, and follow-up items.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Strong writing, editing, research, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to prepare complete grant applications and related documents.
· Ability to interpret and follow grant guidelines, instructions, and requirements.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and partner relationships.
· Professional judgment and ability to work with local officials, agencies, partners, and the public.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and general computer applications.
· Willingness to travel within the EODD service area and attend occasional evening meetings. Occasional overnight travel may be recommended for training and conferences.
· Relevant experience or degree in grant writing, public administration, communications, planning, community development, nonprofit services, or a related field preferred but not required.
Pay: $39,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
