What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Service Staking Technician position at Eastern Iowa REC?
The Member Service Staking Technician develops construction designs for both overhead and underground electrical distribution systems; prepares cost estimates; procures materials; coordinates projects; and performs staking activities. Staking tasks cover line construction, system conversions, relocations, new service installations, and service rebuilds, all in compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and the National Electric Code (NEC). This role also involves daily use of electronic staking software to generate and manage work orders.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A. Technical certification or coursework in an electrical, construction, or utility-related field preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
B. Five years of electrical work experience is required. Experience in electric utility system design, construction and maintenance, highly desirable.
C. Project management experience preferred.
D. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Iowa drivers license and insurable by an insurance carrier of the REC.
