Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing all shipping, receiving, warehouse, freezer, dock, and storage operations across Eastern Fisheries' facilities. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of finished goods, raw materials, packaging, and supplies while maintaining inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and outstanding customer service.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a high-performing team while continuously improving safety, productivity, inventory control, and operational performance.
What You'll Do
- Lead the daily operations of warehouse, freezer, shipping, receiving, and dock activities.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, documentation, and storage of incoming materials.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through effective warehouse and inventory control practices.
- Coordinate product movement between company facilities and third-party cold storage locations.
- Supervise warehouse personnel, forklift operators, and dock employees while developing staffing plans and employee performance.
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Monitor warehouse organization, product rotation, storage utilization, and housekeeping standards.
- Partner with Production, Logistics, Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance to support business operations.
- Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, safety, customer service, and inventory accuracy.
- Support physical inventories, cycle counts, warehouse procedures, and other operational projects as needed.
Qualifications
We're looking for a motivated leader with experience managing warehouse and distribution operations, preferably in food manufacturing or refrigerated environments.
Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience managing warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and logistics.
- Experience working in refrigerated and frozen warehouse environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and team development skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain company certification to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
- Ability to enter refrigerated and frozen warehouse areas as needed.
- Ability to walk warehouse floors and loading docks for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.

- Regular exposure to refrigerated and frozen storage areas.
- Occasional work outside normal business hours to support operational needs.
- Frequent travel between company facilities and occasional visits to third-party cold storage warehouses.
