Position Summary
Eastern DataComm is seeking a driven, results-oriented Sales Executive to expand our corporate client base across the New Jersey metro market. This is a true hunting role — you will be responsible for prospecting, building pipeline, managing complex sales cycles, and closing new business across a wide range of industries. Key Responsibilities
- Prospect aggressively and develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
- Consistently achieve and exceed assigned revenue and gross margin quotas
- Sell a full portfolio of solutions including physical security (video surveillance & access control), unified communications, and emergency notification systems
- Target markets include — but are not limited to — warehouses, manufacturers, law and accounting firms, financial services, banking, contact centers, and municipalities
- Build and maintain high-quality relationships with strategic referral partners, consultants, and finders to uncover additional opportunities
- Conduct consultative needs assessments and present tailored solution sets that address client challenges
- Manage and coordinate the full sales cycle: discovery, scoping, proposal, negotiation, and close
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior decision-makers including CEOs, CFOs, IT management, and business owners
- Discuss and present ROI- and TCO-based value propositions with confidence
- Represent Eastern DataComm at industry trade shows and events throughout NJ and the NY metro area, including Atlantic City
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity tracking and pipeline reporting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of outside B2B sales experience
- Demonstrated track record of exceeding quota in a direct, consultative sales environment
- Strong prospecting and new business development skills — a genuine hunter mentality
- Experience engaging and closing C-suite and senior business decision-makers
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and active listening skills
- High organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in an autonomous environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams including operations, engineering, and project management
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in technology, security, communications, or related B2B solutions sales
- Familiarity with consultative or solution-based selling methodologies
- Experience with ROI/TCO-based sales conversations
- Existing network of decision-maker relationships across NJ business community
