Summary

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)s provide emergency medical care and rescue services to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and EAPS policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls promptly and professionally
- Assess patient conditions and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care
- Assess patient conditions and provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) care
- Perform rescue and extrication operations safely and efficiently
- Communicate with hospitals and medical professionals to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient care and incident documentation
- Drive and operate ambulances safely and in compliance with regulations
- Inspect, clean, and restock ambulances and equipment after each call
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and EAPS privacy policies
- Perform daily station duties, including cleaning, inventory, and restocking
- Represent EAPS at public events and assigned standby functions
- Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and continuing education
- Support team readiness, quality assurance, and system operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or administration
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Certifications: Current AEMT certification, valid driver's license, CPR, & EVOC
- Experience: Previous EMS or rescue experience preferred
- Skills:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs with assistance
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs
- Work in various environments and weather conditions
- Maintain physical fitness, strength, and stamina
