Full time position working 37.5 hours per week

 

Easterseals Florida is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Intervention Developmental Evaluator Therapist to join our Early Steps team. In this role, you will work with children from birth to age three and their families, conducting developmental evaluations, determining eligibility for services, and supporting positive developmental outcomes through early intervention.

 

Position Summary

The Clinic (Early Intervention Developmental) Evaluator Therapist performs developmental assessments for infants and toddlers referred to the Early Steps Program to determine eligibility under IDEA Part C. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with families and professionals to develop individualized plans and recommendations that support each child's unique developmental needs.

A Snapshot of what you'll do:

  • Conduct developmental evaluations using the Developmental Assessment of Young Children, Second Edition (DAYC-2) and other approved assessment tools .
  • Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary evaluation team to determine eligibility for Early Steps services.
  • Collaborate with families and team members to develop and implement Individual Family Support Plans (IFSPs).
  • Recommend evidence-based early intervention services, including frequency, intensity, and duration of services.
  • Provide direct early intervention services to enrolled children as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reports, clinical records, and billing information.
  • Attend staff meetings, planning conferences, and IFSP meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, agency policies, and all applicable state and federal guidelines.
  • Safeguard client rights and promptly report incidents, concerns, abuse, neglect, or exploitation as required by law.
  • Travel to client locations as needed to provide services.



Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • One to two years of related experience or training in early intervention, pediatrics, developmental services, or a related field.
  • Current Florida Professional License as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), as applicable.
  • Master's degree required for Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Required: Florida Medicaid Provider Number 83#; Florida Medicaid Provider Number 81# (Therapy and/or Early Intervention) preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Florida Medicaid Provider Number (Therapy and/or Early Intervention).
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Confirmation of enrollment in the Department of Health (DOH)Provider Management System.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early intervention practices.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret developmental assessments and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to families and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, databases, and internet applications.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to HIPAA regulations, confidentiality requirements, and client rights.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the service area.
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for program-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality due to direct client service responsibilities.
