Position Overview: EASTCONN is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker to join our Facilities team. The Maintenance Worker will play a vital role in maintaining the condition, safety, and functionality of our diverse facilities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of EASTCONN's mission by ensuring a safe and conducive environment for learning and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks across various facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of tasks performed.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective facility operations.
- Assist in setup and breakdown for events and programs hosted by EASTCONN.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a secure work environment.
- Support emergency response procedures, such as snow removal and equipment repairs.
- Participate in projects to enhance the functionality and appearance of facilities.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Provide emergency response when required including security system (24 hr on-call).
- Ability to do heavy lifting, snow removal, and grounds upkeep.
- Ability to operate various types of equipment.
- Periodic floor maintenance and/or custodial duties.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Worker or similar role.
- Knowledge of general maintenance systems.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
- Experience with facilities management software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
