Quinebaug Middle College (QMC) is a unique early college high school located on the campus of Quinebaug Valley Community College, offering students the opportunity to earn college credits while completing their high school diploma.
Position Summary:
EASTCONN is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Math Teacher to join the faculty at QMC starting in the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will inspire and support a diverse group of high school students in developing strong mathematical skills, critical thinking abilities, and confidence in problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Integrate technology and real-world applications into lessons
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and student success
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Connecticut teaching 029 certification in Mathematics (Grades 7–12)
- Experience teaching at the secondary level; early college or dual enrollment experience is a plus
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning
