K-12 Art Teacher (4-day school week)

East Union Community School District is seeking a dynamic and creative K–12 Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a unique opportunity to lead a comprehensive art program, inspiring students from their first finger-paintings to their senior portfolios. We are looking for an educator who doesn’t just teach art, but fosters a lifelong culture of creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression across our entire district.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Excellence: Design and deliver a K–12 art curriculum aligned with Iowa Core Fine Arts Standards.

• Diverse Instruction: Teach various media, techniques, and art history concepts tailored to developmental levels.

• Inclusive Environment: Maintain a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and risk-taking.

• Exhibition: Organize and showcase student work through school displays and local community art events.

• Resource Management: Manage the art budget, supplies, and equipment effectively.

• Collaboration: Work with colleagues to integrate art into other curricular areas and participate in district-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Iowa teaching license with a K–12 Art endorsement (or the ability to obtain one by the start date).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a related field.

• Skills: Strong classroom management, excellent communication, and the ability to connect with students of all ages.

• Preferred: Prior K–12 teaching experience and familiarity with digital art/instructional technology.
