East Stroudsburg University is hiring an Assistant Director of Transfer Center! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Assistant Director of Transfer Center, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable supporting transfer students directly through counseling. You will be an active member of the Admissions team and will work closely with the Director to ensure the seamless transition for their transfer of credits into ESU Systems. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your business administration or education background and serve as the Designated School Official (DSO) to ensure institutional compliance all while assisting international students with their immigration statuses. To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills, be an effective communicator, and possess a keen attention to detail.
Your normal hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Assistant Director of Transfer Center When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.
What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
- Serve as an official representative of the institution to the Student & Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
- Collaborate with Faculty on final determinations on the validity of transfer courses from other institutions.
- Maintain international student records in SEVIS in accordance with federal regulations
- Spearhead the processes for timely and accurate review and posting of transfer credits.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to international student enrollment.
- Assist the Registrar's office with critical functions during peak teams.
- Collaborate with the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), to ensure consistency and accuracy of data.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Understanding of FERPA regulations and higher education compliance standards.
- Two to three years of experience in higher education, preferably in a Registrar’s Office or Admissions.
- Experience with transfer credit evaluation, student records management.
- Knowledge of transfer articulation agreements, including P2P, framework, and reverse transfer.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
