Position Overview:
EPA is seeking a passionate, dedicated Middle School Librarian. This position requires approximately 25 hours of work a week. The librarian will oversee check in and check out of materials. This position is also responsible for leading a small class, 1 period per day of students interested in Leadership.
Core Academic Responsibilities
Reader's Advisory: Recommend engaging books that match young adult reading levels and personal interests.
Collection Maintenance: Catalog new acquisitions, process returns, handle circulation, and perform periodic inventories of print and digital media.
Safe Environment: Maintain an open, welcoming, and inclusive physical and digital space for active learning.
Teach and Instruct Leadership class on Life Skills. Communication and Character Development.
School & Community Engagement
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to support school-wide goals and initiatives.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
Share knowledge with supervisors and co-workers for mutual benefit.
Foster strong relationships with parents by engaging in parent teacher conferences.
Maintain clear and timely communication with parents throughout the school year.
Qualifications
● Previous Library Experience
Bachelor's in education or library science
● Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of East Point Academy.
Experience in a middle level education setting
