Flooring Company General Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Flooring Company General Manager to lead our flooring installation and restoration operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily business activities, manage project execution, and ensure exceptional service delivery across all flooring projects. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, foster client relationships, and promote a safety-first environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, flooring installation techniques, and team management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of flooring sales and projects, including installation, refinishing and restoration work.
• Oversee project estimating to accurately bid on projects and manage budgets effectively.
• Supervise on-site activities ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards across project sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution.
• Manage procurement of hand tools, power tools, and materials necessary for flooring installation, refinishing and related tasks.
• Coordinate with clients to understand project scope, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction throughout the process.
• Oversee the training and development of staff in areas such as flooring sales, installation, refinishing and follow up
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations and ensure all projects meet National Wood Flooring Association guidelines along with local building codes and standards.
• Develop schedules for multiple projects simultaneously while optimizing resource allocation.
• Foster a positive team environment that encourages safety awareness, craftsmanship excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Develop new, and expand existing, marketing strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction management with a focus on flooring installation or restoration industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and project planning.
• Current or previous Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, carpentry and finishing skills.
• Familiarity with water damage restoration processes and floor care techniques.
• Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics for fixture installation or remodeling plans.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Prior experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety protocols.
• Ability to navigate Excel and product knowledge in regards to ordering and inventorying materials and supplies.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
