Objective:
We are looking to add self-starter, enthusiastic team members to the EMG family! The Fabrication Manager will support the Fabrication Manager and the fabrication employees in the performance of their job duties, such as, but not limited to, responding to Project Managers inquiries, assisting the Door department lead with fabrication, and programming the Door Rhino machine. Our manufacturing facility, attached to the office in East Moline, fabricates materials used for commercial construction glazing/fenestration. This position will gain a working understanding of aluminum framing, doors, hardware, and more in order to assist in overseeing daily operations of fabrication.
Thorough training will be provided as this is a unique industry – an open mindset, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn are the top required assets.
Responsibilities:
· Learn and understand the commercial glazing industry, vernacular, parts, and pieces that are required for a variety of systems
· Assist the Fabrication Manager in overseeing the daily workings of fabrication; this requires a lot of logistical problem solving, mobilization on the fabrication floor, and interaction with a variety staff members
· Assist the Fabrication Manager in the operational stages of receiving and storing commercial construction material
· Oversee the Door Rhino machine (similar to a CNC machine); this includes programming, maintenance of the software, and maintenance of the physical machine
· Utilize an in-house glazing software to present dimensions and program the Door Rhino machine
· Work in coordination with the Lead Door Fabricator in running the door rhino and fabricating door requests
· Read and understand shop drawings/plans created from our in-house CAD Drafting department in order to apply them to the fabrication of doors
· Coordinate heavily with in-house Project Managers in relation to job-specific door hardware, as each project may require different combinations of hardware applications
· Work with a variety of departments within EMG to precisely fabricate doors and assist in daily fabrication operations
· Work on a communicated deadline/schedule to allow fabricated doors to be onsite for install in a timely manner
· Perform tasks which are both meticulous and detail oriented
· Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
· Education or experience in engineering, business, or a similar field is a plus
· High school diploma or equivalent – required
· Experience in construction/manufacturing/fabrication – preferred
· Engineering mindset: experience in programming of (CNC) machinery – preferred
· 1-3 years of experience with AutoCAD (or other 2D CAD software) – preferred
· 1 year of supervisory experience of 5 direct reports – preferred
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week); Occasional overtime opportunities; M-F day shift; No travel required
Working Conditions:
· Office, fabrication shop, and outdoors; possible exposure to loud noises and all weather conditions
· May be required to lift (up to 50 pounds)
· Requires sedentary work, sitting, and typing (up to 8 hours per working day)
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
