Position Overview
We are a growing tree work company seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Office Manager / Accounting Coordinator to handle daily office operations and internal accounting tasks. This role is central to keeping the business running smoothly and requires someone who is comfortable working independently in a small-team environment.
At times, this position may be the only person in the office, so strong organization, accountability, and self-direction are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Tasks
- Process bills, payments, and invoices
- Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Make bank deposits and handle routine banking tasks
- Assist with payroll processing
- Maintain accurate internal accounting records
Office & Administrative Duties
- Answer phones and communicate professionally with customers
- Resolve customer questions and issues
- Record and document customer leads in internal software for sales follow-up
- Manage filing systems (digital and physical)
- Handle new hire paperwork and employee records
- Visit the post office and handle incoming/outgoing mail
- Support daily office operations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online AND QuickBooks Desktop (required)
- Prior experience managing A/R, A/P, and basic payroll functions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Comfortable learning and using new software programs
- Professional communication skills with customers and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a small business environment
- Background in administration for construction, tree work, landscaping, or other field-based service companies
- Background in property management or real estate accounting
- Experience supporting a field-based or service-oriented operation
