Position Summary
The Entry-Level Energy Management Specialist supports East Central University's efforts to reduce energy consumption, improve building performance, and manage utility costs and scheduling across campus facilities. This position assists with energy data tracking, building system optimization, and sustainability initiatives while gaining hands-on experience with campus HVAC systems (although limited), scheduling, lighting, and building automation controls.
Essential Job Duties
- Monitor campus electricity, natural gas, and water usage utilizing a multitude of tools and software
- Track and analyze consumption trends
- Support campus energy audits and facility walkthroughs
- Identify low-cost/no-cost energy conservation measures
- Assist with HVAC and lighting efficiency improvements
- Maintain energy tracking spreadsheets and dashboards
- Support and utilize Oklahoma utility rebate and incentive programs
- Coordinate with Facilities Management staff
- Promote campus energy awareness initiatives
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree required
- Minimum associate's degree or Building Automation experience equivalent preferred
- Data tracking, organization, and trend identification through data
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to walk campus and access mechanical spaces via stairwells, etc.
- Scheduling abilities for campus opening/locking procedures
- Excellent organizational and skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to hear, speak, and type in fluent English to exchange information in person, on the
- telephone, computer, mobile device, or using a two-way radio system
- Strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders
- Strong Excel/data analysis skill, and knowledge in standard office software applications
- Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example
- Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
- Ability to communicate in a courteous manner

Work is performed in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels from standard office equipment, conversations, and printers. The position primarily involves office-based activities with occasional visits to facility areas.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position provides direct supervision to individual contributors and offers continuous performance feedback. The role may also involve active participation in departmental activities to meet schedules and resolve issues as needed.
