Position Summary
Carter County Schools is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative instructional leader to serve as a Middle School Mathematics Achievement Fund (MAF) Coach. This position will support the implementation of high-quality mathematics instruction aligned to Kentucky Academic Standards and the district’s adopted HQIR resources. The MAF Coach will work closely with teachers, principals, and district leadership to improve mathematics achievement for all students in grades 6–8.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide instructional coaching and support for middle school mathematics teachers
- Facilitate unit and lesson internalization aligned to HQIR instructional materials
- Support implementation of evidence-based mathematics instructional practices
- Assist with data analysis, progress monitoring, and intervention planning
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback through coaching cycles
- Collaborate with district and school leadership teams to strengthen mathematics instruction
- Lead and facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers
- Support MTSS implementation in mathematics
- Assist with curriculum alignment and assessment review
- Maintain documentation and reporting requirements associated with the MAF grant
Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky teaching certificate
- Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience preferred
- Strong background in middle school mathematics instruction
- Knowledge of Kentucky Academic Standards and HQIR implementation
- Experience with instructional coaching, professional learning, or curriculum leadership preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
