What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at East Carolina Dermatology and Skin Surgery, PLLC?
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for submitting claims to Medicare, commercial insurance carriers, and other third-party payers; posting and reconciling payments; monitoring accounts receivable; working billing and aging reports; following up on unpaid or denied claims; and pursuing delinquent accounts to maximize reimbursement. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance regulations, claims management and physician credentialing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and dependable, with excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team is essential.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
