- POSITION SUMMARY
- The Clinical Educator acts as a resource to employees and leadership to facilitate safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic manner to the patient population. Demonstrates commitment to the organization’s strategic plan and supports new, department-specific and organization-wide initiatives by providing staff continuing education, orientation, and individual staff development. Under the supervision of the Workforce Development Manager, and in collaboration with staff, leadership, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Clinical Educator performs continuous assessment of educational needs, and fosters participation, involvement, and cooperation among staff and management team for education and workforce development programs. Conducts evidence-based research and uses available resources and various instructional approaches to develop and implement training programs based on hospital protocols, policies and procedures, and regulatory standards to facilitate learning and competence. Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs and provides appropriate documentation of education activities. Ensures high quality, compassionate healthcare through continued personal, professional development and innovative thinking, and functions as a professional role model for staff.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- Associate’s in nursing. Must obtain Bachelor’s in nursing within 2 years of date of hire or transfer.
- Minimum Experience
- Three to Five (3-5) years of progressive, clinical nursing experience with primary care management of patient population.
- Required Registration/License/Certification
- Registered Nursing License
- BLS must be obtained within first 6 months of hire
- AHA Instructor status within 12 months of hire or transfer
