About the Visitor Center:
Join the Earthship Visitor Center team and help inspire visitors to learn about sustainable building, off-grid living, and ecological design. We’re a friendly, museum style visitor center where team members support tours, education, and daily operations.
Position Summary:
Customer-service focused role welcoming visitors, leading tours, answering questions about Earthship design and systems, and keeping the visitor center and grounds clean, safe, and presentable. We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented, friendly people who enjoy public interaction and teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors; provide excellent customer service
- Lead guided tours and give clear, engaging explanations of Earthship concepts and systems
- Answer visitor questions accurately and enthusiastically
- Maintain visitor center, restrooms, and common areas (light cleaning, tidying, restocking)
- Manage admissions, gift shop sales, or visitor logs as needed (basic cash/pos handling)
- Monitor safety and accessibility of tour areas; report maintenance needs
- Support special events and occasional outreach or educational activities
Qualifications:
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable speaking to groups
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated
- Interest in sustainability, ecological design, or Earthship principles, having done the Academy is a plus!
