Design Technician

Location: Woodstock, GA (In-Office Required)

Salary: $50,000–$65,000 annually

Type: Full-Time

Earth Retention is seeking a Design Technician to bridge our CAD and Engineering teams. This isn't a typical CAD job—you'll work directly with licensed engineers on real infrastructure projects, participate in design decisions, and build skills that set you apart. You'll work on retaining walls for major DOT projects and commercial developments across 40 states.

• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and material take-offs under engineer supervision
• Create complex CAD drawings including elevations, sections, and construction details
• Use design software (Vespa, MSEW) to develop engineering solutions
• Coordinate with sales team and clients on technical feasibility
• Learn from experienced PEs and grow your technical expertise

Education & Experience:

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field
• OR 5 years of relevant CAD/technical experience
• OR Military veterans with technical roles (Combat Engineers, Seabees, Survey, Construction) with CAD experience
• 3–5 years CAD drafting and technical documentation experience

Technical Skills:

• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Experience reading construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
