Early Learning Childcare Teacher

Early Learning Childcare of Frankfort is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Learning Childcare Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where young children can grow, learn, and develop essential social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans based on the children's individual needs, interests, and developmental levels.
• Follow the center's curriculum and daily classroom schedule while providing engaging learning experiences.
• Support children's development in areas including language and literacy, mathematics, physical development, social-emotional development, creativity, and independence.
• Create and maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Use appropriate classroom and behavior-management strategies to guide children's behavior and encourage positive interactions.
• Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance, daily reports, developmental observations, assessments, and other required documentation.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding their child's daily experiences, development, accomplishments, and concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper handwashing, sanitation, supervision, and emergency procedures.
• Follow center policies, Kentucky childcare regulations, and mandated reporting requirements.
• Respond appropriately to children's individual needs, including developmental differences and special needs.
• Work collaboratively with classroom staff and center administration to provide consistent care and support for children.
• Participate in staff meetings, training opportunities, professional development, and center activities.
• Maintain required certifications and training, including First Aid and CPR.
• Assist with daily classroom responsibilities, including meals, diapering/toileting, nap time, transitions, and maintaining classroom materials and supplies.
• Build positive relationships with children and families while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a childcare center, preschool, daycare, or similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Ability to create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Strong classroom-management and behavior-guidance skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
• Ability to work with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children using appropriate teaching and caregiving techniques.
• Ability to follow all childcare licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and center policies.
• First Aid and CPR certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks and employment requirements.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and required childcare training.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential.
