Overview
The Child Care Aide will provide support in a nurturing, safe, and educational environment for children at our tuition-based childcare center. Under the guidance of the lead teacher or center Program Administrator, the aide will assist in the implementation of educational activities, manage daily routines, and support the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of the children.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years) during daily activities such as playtime, nap time, and meals.
- Help with the planning and preparation of age-appropriate learning activities.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care.
- Foster positive and constructive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment, including classroom materials and toys.
- Support children in their social, emotional, and developmental growth.
- Help with transitions between activities (e.g., snack time, outdoor play, naptime).
- Attend to children's individual needs, including toileting, feeding, and comforting when necessary.
- Follow all safety procedures and policies, ensuring the center is compliant with licensing requirements.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, including daily reports, attendance logs, and incident reports.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting is preferred.
- Understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents.
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift, carry, and assist children as needed.
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
