What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood School Social Worker position at Early Childhood Center?
Qualifications:
- School Social Worker certification required or meet requirements for full or temporary approval from MDE
- Must have strong understanding of special education eligibility requirements and evaluation procedures
- Must have strong behavioral background with an emphasis on creating and implementing behavior plans and functional behavior assessments
- Early childhood experience and developmental knowledge strongly preferred
- Strong data analysis experience preferred
Description:
- Support general and special education early childhood developmental needs by supporting students on and off caseload
- Provides special education evaluations and service delivery within the building and community early childhood settings
- Provide professional development on behavior and regulation strategies to teachers and administrators
- Supports the RtI and MTSS framework development
- Takes an active role in the child study process at the building level by addressing social-emotional and regulation needs for all students
- Knowledge of community mental health agencies
- Referrals to outside agencies
- Classroom groups
- Plans for individual students and small groups on targeted skills
- Regular and consistent attendance
