What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller position at EAR, NOSE AND THROAT PLASTIC SURGERY CENTER?
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Job description:
- Knowledge of EMR, preferably Allscripts Prosuite.
- Charge entry
- Prepare AR/Collection reports; work with Excel spreadsheets
- Payment posting: insurance & patient payments, follow-up on denials, re-billing, if necessary
- Review patient coverage and payer type
- Complete claim forms and/or invoices and submit to appropriate payer
- Send requested documentation to insurance carriers
- Able to conduct and coordinate payment collection on outstanding invoices Assist department with various duties including faxing, scanning and emailing.
- Stay abreast of changes in the billing guidelines Provide customer service delinquency for assigned accounts
- Must communicate & follow up effectively with Account Executives and Department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis
- Skills: Requirements High school diploma or GED Minimum of year working in a fast paced high volume environment Knowledge of EMR, preferably Allscripts Prosuite Experience in the healthcare environment is a plus
- Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and goal oriented
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required Preferably Medical Billing experience would be key
- Should be able to decipher Explanation of Benefits
- Understanding of Medical Billing codes Working Conditions Good appearance at all times that represents the company image
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs Work area has fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
