Admissions Supervisor
Serve as the Evening Clinical Supervisor for Admissions Department and reports to the Admissions Manager. Responsible for supervising the staff on second and third shift. Responsible for overseeing assessment process, which includes communicating with providers regarding level of care concerns and facilitating smooth transitions into the facility by coordinating with the Counseling and/or Nursing departments. Responsible for directing patient flow, assigning tasks to admissions staff and overseeing the overall functioning of the shift. Provide support to the marketing activities and initiate strategic referral contacts.
Objectives / Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to the admission staff as assigned.
- Be a point of contact for any admissions issues or concerns.
- Review ASAM assessments by staff on shift.
- Complete pre-certifications as necessary per payor guidelines.
- Ensure county funding paperwork is completed for any patients who are not active with insurance.
- Perform the duties of an Intake Specialist when necessary to support the line staff at times of high volume.
- Provide prescreening of potential admissions either telephonically or by electronic submission.
- Direct the flow of patients through the admissions process to limit unnecessary delays, redundancy in tasks, and maintain patient safety.
- Maintains verbal and written communication with Admissions Manager on a daily basis to ascertain current and projected bed availability in all Eagleville Hospital programs. Schedules prospective clients for admission evaluation and subsequent admission as per bed availability.
- Facilitate step-downs, transfers, and discharges in Netsmart as notified by unit staff.
- Develops rapport as a liaison for referral sources.
- Maintains strong knowledge base of Insurance/County Funding Offices protocols
- Interact with staff from Patient Accounts, Psychiatry, Nursing, Medical, Clinical, and Transportation Departments on daily basis in the effort to obtain patient benefits, admission clearance, and to coordinate transportation.
- Assist the Admissions Manager in the completion of annual staff evaluations.

Educational Requirements
Master’s degree required, LSW or LCSW preferred. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a behavioral health facility in admissions and ASAM experience. Previous use of myAvatar NX EMR preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Certified to perform ASAM assessments. Prior experience working in admissions at a behavioral health facility. Prior experience working with insurance companies to complete pre certification for treatment.
Physical Requirements
Will be required to move between buildings to bring admissions to the units.
Assist in moving patient belongings which may include lifting or pushing a cart.
Work Environment
Work in normal ventilated office setting.
