Head Men's Team Gymnastics Coach

Role Overview

The Head Men's Team Coach exists to lead the competitive development and performance of the Men's Artistic Gymnastics Team at Eagles Wings Athletics in Prosper, Texas. This role owns the structure, training execution, and competitive preparation of the men's program, ensuring athletes progress through levels with strong technical foundations and readiness for competition.

This role supports the core function of Competitive Program Delivery for the Men's Team Program and serves as the primary leader responsible for practice structure, athlete development, and competition preparation for all athletes within the program.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership of the Men's Competitive Program

• Own the structure and execution of all Men's Team practices.
• Design seasonal training plans aligned with the competitive calendar.
• Maintain written weekly practice plans outlining event rotations, conditioning blocks, and skill development priorities.
• Establish training expectations and standards for athletes across all team levels.
• Maintain a clear progression system for athletes moving between levels.
• Communicate program direction and expectations to athletes and parents.

Athlete Skill Development and Progression

• Provide direct coaching across all men's artistic gymnastics events including floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar.
• Deliver hands-on spotting and technical correction during skill development.
• Identify readiness for new skills, upgrades, and level advancement.
• Track athlete progress and address performance gaps through targeted drills and conditioning.
• Maintain athlete readiness for testing, evaluations, and competition routines.

Competition Preparation and Meet Execution

• Prepare athletes for sanctioned competitions throughout the season.
• Finalize routines and event lineups prior to competition.
• Lead team warm-ups and athlete preparation during competitions.
• Provide in-meet coaching, feedback, and adjustments.
• Conduct post-meet evaluations to identify training priorities moving forward.

Practice Environment and Athlete Standards

• Maintain a structured and disciplined training environment.
• Ensure all practices begin and end on schedule.
• Enforce safety protocols for equipment use and spotting.
• Establish conditioning expectations tied to athlete development goals.
• Address athlete behavior, focus, and work ethic during practices.

Communication and Program Coordination

• Provide regular progress updates to the Owner and General Manager.
• Communicate competition schedules, expectations, and preparation timelines to families.
• Coordinate practice schedules and competition logistics with facility leadership.
• Identify equipment or facility needs that impact the men's program and escalate appropriately.

Other Duties as Assigned

• Support broader gym operations when requested by the Owner or General Manager.
• Assist with special events, clinics, or camps that involve the men's program.
• Contribute to program initiatives that support athlete recruitment or development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience coaching men's artistic gymnastics.
• Current USA Gymnastics (USAG) professional membership.
• Current USAG safety and certification requirements (including SafeSport and background screening).
• Demonstrated experience coaching competitive athletes and preparing them for sanctioned meets.
• Ability to spot advanced men's gymnastics skills safely.
• Experience designing structured practice plans and seasonal training progressions.
• Strong leadership presence with youth athletes.
• Ability to maintain discipline and structure within a team training environment.
• Strong working knowledge of USA Gymnastics competition rules and scoring for men's artistic gymnastics.
• Maintains awareness of rule updates, code changes, and competition requirements each season.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
