Position Summary
EWA is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Accounting Specialist to own the reconciliation and payment of our airline and vendor payables. This role manages a high volume of weekly carrier reconciliations across major airlines, supports monthly credit card and quarterly statement reviews, and provides coverage for miscellaneous accounting functions. The position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in or near Tampa, FL 33607.
Position Details
- Job Type: Part-Time, approximately 20 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern Time
- Location: Remote; candidates must reside in or near Tampa, FL 33607 (TPA area)
- Expected Start Date: August 17, 2026
- Pay: Competitive based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and reconcile vendor payables on a scheduled daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Schedule payments for airline payables
- Complete credit card reconciliations
- Review vendor statements of account and resolve discrepancies
- Review, maintain and process vendor records and updates in the accounting system
- Monitor and respond to accounts payable email correspondence in a timely manner
- Assist with database administration and other miscellaneous tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree or higher preferred
- Experience: 3 years of accounting experience
- General: Honesty, integrity, ability to work independently, take initiative, participate as an effective team member, possess a high level of flexibility and critical thinking, and ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; comfort with learning and integrating new software into accounting systems
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, confidentiality, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with discretion in handling sensitive information
