We are currently seeking a full-time, year-round Front Desk Agent who is capable of efficiently and quickly handling high volumes of guests. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and an interest in hospitality. An ideal candidate for this position will also be comfortable with managing and monitoring multiple streams of information at once and willing to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and register guests on arrival.
- Sell and assign guest rooms. Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
- Adhere to reservation policies.
- Must be sales minded. Present options and alternatives to guests and helps in making choices.
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve customer complaints.
- Processes guest check-outs.
- Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, and special requests.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of front office equipment and reservation software.
- Post and file all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts. · Perform nightly audit and resolve any discrepancies when needed.
- Coordinate guest requests and concierge services.
- Provide information about the hotel, the surrounding community, and any attractions or events of interest to guests.
- Work closely with housekeeping in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned during the shift by the Front Desk Supervisor, General Manager or Owners.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience with multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous administrative experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with data entry and typing.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and support.
