What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Eagle Ranch?
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Full-time.
ABOUT EAGLE RANCH: Eagle Ranch is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization located in Flowery Branch, Georgia, that takes a whole family approach to restoring and renewing relationships for children and families. Eagle Ranch was founded in 1985 and has served thousands of children and their families.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Accounting Manager participates in the daily financial operation of Eagle Ranch to ensure excellent internal reporting, budgeting, financial management, and control.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage general ledger, including reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and analysis.
- Maintain Fixed Asset sub-ledger and all transfers, purchases, and dispositions.
- Maintain Fund account maintenance, including maintaining the Designated Funds report.
- Payroll: Coordinates with payroll service for preparation and delivery of payroll deposits/checks and reporting, including paying payroll liability accounts and compliance.
- Interfaces with our certified public accounting firm in completing and preparing the annual audit.
- Elicits input from staff Directors each year and participates in preparing next year’s annual budget.
- Manages Eagle Ranch accounting systems, ensuring adequate accounting and financial control.
- Assist the Ranch Directors with financial management for accounts for which they are responsible.
- Manage other duties consistent with the role.

REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree in accounting plus five (5) years of experience.
- CPA required.
- Understanding of fund accounting required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, especially as it relates to financial matters and notes accompanying financial statements for records.
- Able to use technology well, including database programs. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
