Marketing Consultant

We're looking for a driven, community-minded Marketing Consultant to join our team and help deliver results that matter.

The Marketing Consultant will work closely with local businesses and organizations to craft customized marketing campaigns using our radio, digital, and event-based platforms. This client-facing sales role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who is passionate about local business and thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.

This position offers the unique opportunity to acquire and manage an established account list, providing a solid foundation for success from day one.

You’ll work closely with both new and existing clients to develop customized marketing campaigns using our radio, digital and event-based platforms.

This position is in our St. Joseph, MO market with stations KFEQ(AM), KKJO, KSJQ, KESJ(AM), KYSJ-AM and KBCT, as well as our leading online news platform St. Joseph Post and Maryville Post.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow an established portfolio of clients while prospecting for new business through networking, cold calling, community events and referrals.
• Collaborate with local businesses to renew and expand current campaigns.
• Sell across a full suite of marketing solutions, including radio advertising, digital display, streaming audio, social media promotions, sponsorships, and live events.
• Meet with clients in person and on-site to understand their goals and develop tailored marketing strategies.
• Prepare and present professional proposals and marketing plans.
• Keep detailed records of client interactions and sales activity.
• Stay engaged with the local community to identify trends and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in advertising, media, or marketing.
• Deep knowledge or a strong connection to the St. Joseph community and surrounding areas.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a proven ability to close sales.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel locally.

Salary:

Compensation is commensurate with experience along with a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid vacation and ESOP (employee stock ownership plan).
