The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s team to source, underwrite, capitalize, and close real estate investments. Additionally, the candidate will be closely involved in the firm’s asset management and development management activities which includes monitoring business plan execution, working on development/pre-development tasks, assisting in financing activities, communicating with lenders/investors, dispositions, etc. This is a unique opportunity for a top tier, high potential person to work with strong mentors while obtaining valuable, hands-on experience throughout the investment cycle from pre-acquisition to management of existing investments to dispositions.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assemble and update complex financial analyses, including cash flow projections, acquisition and development models, sensitivity analyses, lease calculations, promotes and waterfalls using ARGUS and Microsoft Excel
- Preparation of investment memorandums and presentations for new investment opportunities for both internal and external audiences
- Coordinate acquisition process, including underwriting, due diligence, financing, and transaction execution/closing
- Conduct market research and competitive property analysis
- Maintain proprietary database of market information including sales comps, lease comps, development pipelines, etc.
- Coordinate property financing process with lenders
- Develop analyses on current portfolio assets, including hold vs. sell analyses, lease impact analyses and other ad hoc asset management analyses
- Review leases, abstracts, contracts, and other property documents
- Help to develop business plans, monitor business plan performance, and react to correct any variances to maximize value
- Create asset level reports for internal management and external investors
- Coordinate request and receipt of due diligence information
- Keep acquisition and investment files current
- Assist in special assignments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience at a top Financial Institution, Real Estate investment firm or Real Estate investment sales firm
- Demonstrated track record of high achievement in demanding professional and academic settings
- Superior quantitative and modeling skills, and proven analytical abilities in real estate
- Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- ARGUS experience preferred
- Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, multi-task and work in a lean group
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to thrive in an unstructured environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Committed to delivery of highest quality work product and attention to detail
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks
START DATE: Immediate
COMPENSATION: Competitive base salary and discretionary bonus commensurate with candidate's work experience
