Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med Surg
Location: Marshfield, WI
Contract: 13 Weeks | 36 Hours per Week | Days
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg RN to join a dynamic inpatient team in Marshfield, WI. The RN will care for a diverse patient population including orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, oncology/OBGYN, and acute medical cases. This unit operates in a highly collaborative environment with strong support from charge nurses, CNA staff, and respiratory therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult Med Surg patients
- Titrate drips based on prescribed nomograms (primarily Heparin; occasional Nitro, Bivalirudin, Cardizem, Insulin)
- Monitor and document patient status and response to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to support care plans
- Float to other adult Med Surg units as needed
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license (or compact state license)
- 1–2 years of recent acute care / Med Surg experience required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Strong clinical assessment and multitasking skills
Unit Details:
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4–5 | Nights 1:5–6
- Telemetry techs monitor strips 24/7 — RNs do not read their own strips
- CNA support on all shifts
- No vents; RT support available
- Every other weekend & every other holiday required
- No call / no standby
- Dress code: Any clean, professional scrubs
Orientation:
- 1 day of computer training 1–2 days of precepted floor orientation
