Job Overview
The Sales Engineer shall be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities for E2’s industrial refrigeration department. This involves conducting technical site visits and designing system layouts for ammonia, CO2, freon and glycol systems. The engineer will strengthen relationships with current customers and develop long-term relationships with new customers.
Core Responsibilities
• Identify and maintain new prospects with food and beverage production and distribution facilities, pharmaceutical companies, and plasma logistics facilities
• Establish and strengthen relationships with existing customers (owners, general contractors, project managers, facility managers, architects and engineers)
• Secure new refrigeration project opportunities
• Schedule and conduct successful sales calls with prospective clients to identify and qualify project opportunities
• Analyze projects to determine if they are a fit for E2’s capabilities, pipeline, and strategic growth initiatives
• Establish written sales plans, track activity, and achieve quantitative sales goals
• Act as a bridge between project management and construction teams during the installation phase to ensure technical specifications are met and the installation is fully aligned with the design • Collaborate with internal engineering to develop conceptional designs
• Perform room load calculations and develop appropriate bid and construction drawings, flow diagrams and specifications for new systems or upfits, including heat load calculations and equipment and pipe sizing
• Visit job sites to diagnose problems and failures for systems we are installing
• Ensure proposed systems meet IIAR (International Institute of All-Natural Refrigeration) guidelines, as well as ASHRAE and environmental standards
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Company from time-to-time
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of Industrial Refrigeration sales experience
• Strong communication skills
• Strong business decision-making skills with a solid financial acumen
• BA/BS degree in engineering
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but certainly not required
• Closing skills, motivation for sales, sales planning, selling to customer needs, and goal oriented
• Thorough understanding of the Vapor Compression Cycle, heat exchangers and refrigerants (Ammonia, CO2, Freon and Glycol)
• Proficient with CAD software to include AutoCAD with Revit experience a plus
