Job Description: Electronic Assembly Technician
Location: East Providence, RI
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Monday – Friday
Pay: $20 – $30/hour
Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Electronic Assembly Technician to join our East Providence team. This role is perfect for someone with experience in electromechanical assembly, soldering, and inspection of electronic components who thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
As an Electronic Assembly Technician, you’ll be working directly with small electronic assemblies and components, following IPC-J-STD-001 standards, while contributing to product quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Perform soldering, assembly, and inspection of electronic and electromechanical components per IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
- Assemble wiring harnesses, apply adhesives, epoxy, and conformal coatings as required.
- Conduct soldering using through-hole, surface-mount, and rework/reflow techniques.
- Inspect solder joints and components to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate and maintain assembly-related machines and tools; collaborate with Engineering on equipment set-ups and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes, inspection results, and any production issues.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure timely and quality completion of tasks.
Qualifications / Must-Haves:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident (required).
- Proven hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly and soldering.
- IPC-J-STD-001 certification preferred or willingness to get certified (company will sponsor).
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and written work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
- Comfortable working with hands, power tools, and in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Technical school education or equivalent preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach to tasks.
