Role Description
We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager with a strong background in boiler and heat recovery system fabrication. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of welding procedures, NDT procedures (RT, PT, VT, PMI, UT), Fabrication processes (PWHT, Painting…etc ) , ASME Section 1 & Section VIII code requirements, and production scheduling, resource management and estimating. This position is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fabrication and production of industrial boilers, HRSGs (Heat Recovery Steam Generators), and related pressure equipment.
- Problem solving and resolution.
- Develop and oversee detailed project schedules, coordinating all phases from engineering and procurement through fabrication and delivery.
- Direct and coordinate resources with the shop manager ensuring optimal use of manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Interpret and enforce welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ) in accordance with ASME Section I, VIII, and IX.
- Work closely with QA/QC personnel to ensure all fabrication meets code requirements and project specifications.
- Maintain communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project scope and deliverables.
- Manage and track job costs, material usage, and production performance.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and internal safety protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to production efficiency, quality, and workflow optimization.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in project or production management in boiler or pressure vessel fabrication.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME codes, particularly Sections I, VIII, and IX.
- Proven experience with welding processes including GTAW, and FCAW, CMAW and NDE methods.
- Strong scheduling and project management skills; experience with tools like MS Project or Primavera preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Experience managing ASME code shop documentation and inspections is a strong plus.
Education:
- Formal Technical Education and/or Project management certification is a plus. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- ASME Certification or CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) is a plus.
