Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to read and interpret schematics. some plumbing and electrical skills required
Duties
- Oversee and manage carpentry projects from start to finish, ensuring quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate work schedules and project timelines.
- Perform various carpentry tasks including fixture installation, door hanging, masonry work, and water damage restoration.
- Fabricate custom woodwork and cabinetry according to specifications.
- Read and interpret schematics to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and safety protocols.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; report any repairs needed.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in various carpentry techniques including plumb, plaster, masonry, and fixture installation.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for travel between job sites.
