The Security/Compliance Specialist ensures that all IT systems and processes meet Department of Defense cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
This role is part of a proposal for the Department of Defense. Hiring is contingent upon the selection of the consultant. Selected candidates will be included in the proposal and must authorize the use of their resume for submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity policies and controls
- Ensure compliance with DFARS, NIST, RMF, and DoD security standards
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis
- Support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
- Monitor systems for security incidents and respond accordingly
- Ensure proper handling of PII and sensitive Government data
- Maintain audit logs, compliance documentation, and reporting
- Coordinate required training (Cyber Awareness, OPSEC, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 5 years of cybersecurity/compliance experience
- Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoD IA requirements
- Certifications such as Security , CISSP, or CISM preferred
- Experience in federal or DoD environments highly preferred
