Lead E.L. Haynes’ strategy for attracting, selecting, and engaging exceptional talent to drive strong, equitable student outcomes across all campuses. Reporting to the Chief Talent Officer, you will partner closely with school leaders and hiring managers to align recruitment and staff experience with organizational priorities and the vision of Haynes 3.0.
You will build and manage proactive talent pipelines, elevate the Haynes employer brand through targeted marketing and storytelling, and oversee rigorous, high-quality hiring processes that consistently yield mission-aligned staff. Through oversight of recruitment systems, external partnerships, a marketing contractor, and Teacher Recruitment Ambassadors, you will expand and strengthen candidate pools while ensuring a strong, consistent candidate experience.
In parallel, you will design and lead a cohesive staff engagement strategy that strengthens onboarding, connection, and retention across the organization. - Lead the development and execution of the annual recruitment strategy, aligned to organizational priorities and workforce planning;
- Build and manage robust candidate pipelines across instructional and non-instructional roles, with a strong emphasis on proactive sourcing;
- Oversee candidate cultivation strategies, ensuring high-touch engagement from first interaction through offer;
- Manage and deepen partnerships with external pipelines (e.g., teacher residencies, universities, alternative certification programs);
- Design and execute signature recruitment initiatives (events, referral programs, targeted campaigns);
- Represent Haynes externally to elevate brand visibility and attract diverse, high-quality candidates; and
- Use data to continuously refine sourcing strategies, track pipeline health, and improve conversion rates.

- Manage and direct a recruitment marketing contractor to execute campaigns aligned to hiring priorities;
- Oversee a team of seasonal Teacher Recruitment Ambassadors to expand outreach and peer-driven candidate engagement;
- Develop and implement a multi-channel recruitment marketing strategy (social media, digital campaigns, events, storytelling);
- Ensure all recruitment messaging reflects Haynes’ identity: rigor, belonging, innovation, and inclusion;
- Partner with internal stakeholders to capture and amplify authentic staff and student stories; and
- Continuously assess and refine messaging based on candidate engagement and hiring outcomes.
You will ensure that every hire reflects the bar for excellence required to deliver strong student outcomes.
- Oversee the end-to-end selection process, ensuring consistency, rigor, and alignment across roles;
- Partner with hiring managers to design and implement effective selection processes, including performance tasks and interviews;
- Lead hiring manager calibration and kickoff processes to ensure clarity on role expectations and candidate profiles;
- Ensure an exceptional, responsive, and professional candidate experience;
- Monitor and improve systems for application tracking, communication, and decision-making; and
- Analyze hiring outcomes to improve selection tools, processes, and alignment to competencies.

- Design and lead a comprehensive staff engagement strategy, aligned to Haynes’ core values and priorities;
- Oversee new staff onboarding and transition experience, ensuring a strong, connected, and values-aligned start;
- Build and implement ongoing engagement and staff recognition initiatives that meaningfully celebrate contributions, reinforce core values, and elevate both individual and team impact;
- Develop and manage retention-focused strategies, including identifying key drivers of turnover, strengthening staff investment, and creating targeted supports for high-impact and high-potential team members;
- Partner across teams and schools to ensure alignment between staff experience, performance, recognition, and retention goals;
- Use data (feedback, retention trends, engagement metrics) to continuously improve staff experience systems and inform proactive retention efforts; and
- Lead and scale initiatives that support both new staff integration and sustained, organization-wide engagement.
You have:
- 3 - 6 years of experience in recruitment, talent strategy, HR, or organizational development;
- Demonstrated success building and managing high-performing recruitment pipelines and hiring systems;
- Experience leading marketing, branding, or outreach strategies, ideally in talent or mission-driven contexts;
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously;
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging for diverse audiences;
- Experience managing others (directly or through contractors/teams) and driving accountability for results;
- A commitment to equity, inclusion, and building diverse teams;
- A track record of using data to inform strategy and improve outcomes;
- Commitment to the E.L. Haynes Public Charter School mission and core values, with a clear alignment to advancing equity and excellence for all students;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, direct feedback and influence stakeholders at all levels;
- Demonstrated ability to identify and disrupt inequities in systems and outcomes, and to lead with an equity-centered, inclusive mindset;
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment;
- Experience working independently toward ambitious goals while collaborating effectively across teams; and
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
- An advanced degree in a relevant field;
- Previous experience working in charter schools; and
- Oral and/or written proficiency in Spanish.
Salary : $94,250 - $109,821
